~Unforgettable Sake~
From the blessings of nature and Earth,
With the passion for good Japanese sake
Unforgettable Sake
Takaisami
Our Thoughts

Established in Meiji 5 (1872). Otani Shuzo Co., Ltd. has been continuing tradition for over 150 years in Kotoura-cho, located in central Tottori.

At the base of Mt. Oyama, the rich nature, biting cold winds of winter, and water from freshly melted snow that make up the local color are prefect for sake brewing. In addition, for our base ingredients we start with Yamadanishiki and add Tamasakae, Tottori-grown rice suitable for sake brewing, Goriki, and other ingredients. From rice preparation to sake brewing, we are commited to standardized production and a dry flavor that shows our hand in its creation.

The name of the sake that represents Otani Shuzo, "Takaisami," comes from the original owner, a bird lover who was enchanted by the gallant figure of hawks soaring through the sky. This man, Shun Sakamoto, worked as the chief brewer until 2007, and was famous for being selected as a "modern craftsman" and receiving a yellow ribbon medal. His successor, Hiroshi Soda, also was selected as a "modern craftsman" and received a yellow ribbon medal.

Even now, the flavor of Takaisami continues to be handed down to the next chief brewer and the brewery staff. While upholding tradition, we also make use of our progressive spirit to actively pursue the development of new products.

Our sake, a hidden gem of the San'in Region, is very popular and often recieves high praise. We will continue in our efforts to stand with our customers and provide them with enjoyable sake, while remembering to have a heart full of gratitude and our moto of "quality first, from our heart and soul."

Wataru Hase

"Takaisami" is an image of many tasty sake.Among them, I love unfiltered raw sake, and I like to drink it.
First of all, the rich taste and umami, and the fragrance that goes through the nose. You can feel a little sweetness in the loose mouth.
Take a sip and it's delicious! It is a delicious taste that comes out in the mouth.
Unfiltered raw liquor has a strong taste by itself, so you can enjoy it with just a light liquor, and even strong-tasting liquor such as Tottori beef, Daisen chicken, and fried food is GOOD.
When you want to combine sashimi, sushi, etc. with a little refreshing taste, combine "Nakadare" or "Strong".Whenever I stay at Misasa Onsen, I always choose "Takaisami".

I had Takaisami's limited sake "Jungin Nakadare".
I love sake and order sake from sake breweries all over the country online.
This is the first sake I've ever had in Tottori prefecture, so I was looking forward to it.
I imagined Junmaishu coming intensely because it was unfiltered raw sake, but when I actually drank it, I did not feel any difficulty in drinking it, it was refreshing and the aroma was good and I could drink more and more. With a soft mouth, I quickly emptied about 2 go.
My wife also drank it because it was delicious, so I think it is recommended for women.

"Takaisami" is a local sake, so I felt that my father had been drinking it since I first remembered it, and that Takayu was always at home.
When I actually drank it, it tasted very good, and compared to other alcoholic beverages, it felt like it slipped into my body, which is indispensable for everyday evening drinks.
Especially, it goes well with the white squid sashimi from the local Sea of Japan. Not to mention "Nakadare" and "Strong", my favorite Takayu sake is "Junmainigorizake" raw!I can't wait for December to be released every year.
